TESTIMONIALS

“For many years my daughter struggled breathing while participating in sports.  We were told for many year[s] she had exercise [i]nduced asthma until she was 16, when after many doctor visits we were told she had PVCD.  Her breat[h]ing got so bad her jr. year she couldn’t even play the sport she loved (lacrosse) and hope to play in college.  After 1 month working with Sharon, she can run and play to her full potential without any breathing problems at all.  And thanks to Sharon, my daughter was able to reach her dream and commit to a DIII school for lacrosse and she is excited to play midfield, run and compete without any breathing problems.  Thank you to SVTC.”– T. “My son Daniel was diagnosed and treated for asthma for over 2 years, which involved using a daily inhaler 2x/day and a rescue inhaler when needed. This was very difficult because he is an active teenager and he plays sports. It was always a stress point for me as his mother worrying about whether or not he would have an asthma attack and not be able to breath. He would have asthma attacks playing hockey, mountain biking, at strength and conditioning, running, etc. Since he continued to have issues with his breathing on a regular basis, Dan was then diagnosed as a potential candidate for PVFM. We ultimately landed with Sharon Frank at the Speech and Voice Therapy Center in Foxboro. Sharon and her team were amazing and got to work with Dan right away. He learned how to retrain his breathing over a short period of time. Sharon put herself in different environments with Dan to assess him and work with him each week including observation at the hockey rink. As Dan worked with Sharon each week his breathing issues went away and he no longer required the use of any inhalers, and in fact does not have asthma. His confidence has returned and he is able to participate 100% in any sports without concern of not being able to breath. Meeting and working with Sharon Frank was an answer to prayer for us.”– J.B., Franklin, MA

Her expertise in voice and her kindness helped me recover beyond what my physician thought was possible. I have learned how to preserve my vocal cord function. I am no longer embarrassed by my voice.  “I am a professional singer and was experiencing vocal fatigue and other issues. I came to Sharon Frank for help and she treated me with a series of vocal exercises, both for my speaking and singing voice. She also gave me helpful information about vocal hygiene practices. My voice started getting stronger and clearer and is now doing great. I sing full time, sometimes as much as 12 solid hours of singing in one weekend, and I have not experienced any problems since receiving care from Sharon. I would highly recommend her to other singers. She gave me practical exercises and helped me one step at a time. She is patient, knowledgeable and also a great person. I feel lucky to have found her.” –Krisanthi Pappas

“My daughter began seeing Sharon Frank after years of being diagnosed with “exercise induced asthma”. When steroid inhalers were not helping, we searched for an alternative treatment, and found one at the Speech and Voice Therapy Center. Sharon taught Allie how to manage her breathing difficulties without the use of any drugs. She taught her how to breathe properly and how to recognize when her body was beginning o experience trouble. Allie has gone on to play competitive field hockey thoughout her 4 years of college and is acutely aware of how to recognize and breathe through any symptoms. We can’t thank Sharon enough for her help. So many years of using a steroid inhaler – we wish we would have found Sharon sooner! Sharon’s name is a ‘verb’ in our household – we call it “Sharon Franking” when Allie is practicing her breathing techniques! Thanks for everything, Sharon. One of the best Mom-accomplishments I can brag about.” — Janice

“It is hard to put into words how happy I am that the trail of doctors led us to Sharon Frank of the Speech and Voice Therapy Center in Foxboro. My daughter Emma had been experiencing difficulty breathing when playing soccer. The episodes happened sporadically over the course of 2 years, but were gradually increasing in frequency. Emma had become nervous and timid during games and at practices. She was reluctant to give it her all. We are beyond grateful that after just a few short months with Sharon, Emma has regained control of her breathing.” Sharon greeted Emma with a warm, compassionate understanding of the Paradoxical Vocal Fold Movement she had been diagnosed with. She educated Emma on her condition and immediately made her confident that it would be something she could help Emma fix. Emma is now back to playing soccer with full enthusiasm. She regularly practices her breathing techniques. I will forever be grateful for the life lessons Emma received from Sharon.” — Laura Riley, North Attleboro, MA
